Areal distribution of ratios in the Tohoku district, Northeastern Japan

摘要: Abstract Natural gas samples, including various types of gases from hot springs, mineral springs and water wells, were collected at nine sampling sites in the Tohoku district, northeastern Japan. The 3 He 4 20 Ne ratios these samples measured using a mass spectrometer. ranges observed are 3.56·10 −7 to 9.01·10 −6 2.9·10 −3 5.2·10 −1 , respectively. temporal variations for two show little fluctuation over period 28 months. Samples forearc region have radiogenic ratios, being about one-third atmospheric value, whereas volcanic arc region, high with values 2.5–6.4 times atmosphere. district good correlation subduction-related tectonic structure island-arc system. These may reflect state material flow associated magma generation.
