摘要: By using simple yet accurate approximations for the propagation characteristics of a single-mode optical fiber, we obtain model total loss and chromatic dispersion fiber transmission lines as function operating conditions such splice offset, microbending loss, bends, etc. This is then applied to typical cases terrestrial submarine systems designs which are stable with respect slight condition changes both 1.3 1.55 µm wavelengths. It appears that same can be used at systems, even if monochromatic sources become available this wavelength. A general comparison between two wavelengths carried out shows under wavelength practical interest. emphasized availability would make major breakthrough repeater spacing.
