摘要: We report the room temperature (RT) synthesis of silver vanadate nanorods (consisting mainly beta-AgV O(3)) by a simple wet chemical route and their frictional study at high temperatures (HT). The sudden mixing ammonium with nitrate solution under constant magnetic stirring resulted in pale yellow coloured precipitate. Structural/microstructural characterization precipitate through x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) transmission (TEM) revealed yield homogeneous formation nanorods. length was 20-40 microm thickness 100-600 nm. pH variation respect to time thoroughly studied understand mechanism This process neither demands HT, surfactants nor long reaction time. nanomaterial showed good lubrication behaviour HT (700 degrees C) friction coefficient between 0.2 0.3. HT-XRD that AgV O(3) completely transformed into vanadium oxide (Ag(2)V(4)O(11)) an increase from RT 700 C.
