摘要: Foraging pattern of birds in thorn forest was studied Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary 1995 and 1996 during January to April (dry spell) as most the start breeding this period, demands for energy are greatest spend their time foraging. This study examines foraging a 10 ha plot laid forest. Information on height, substrate, method collected. In total, 1386 observations were made above said three dimension 33 species birds. Cluster analysis these shows that important factor dividing bird community into guilds related physical structure habitat followed by substrates methods. nine heights, six substrates, methods identified present plot. All overlapped considerably with other at least any one dimensions. Niche overlap observed high usage height substrate method. As evolved special morphological adaptations use particular exploit less specialization more among two
