摘要: Abstract Objective To evaluate the protective effect of Lavandula officinalis ( L. ) extract against blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability and its possible mechanisms in an experimental model stroke. Methods Focal cerebral ischemia was induced by transient occlusion middle artery for 1 h rats. Lavender (100, 200 mg/kg i.p .) injected 20 consecutive days. BBB oxidative stress biomarkers were evaluated using standard methods. Results The results this study showed that ethanolic significantly reduced groups when compared with group. lavender malondialdehyde levels plasma brain tissue intact group control Conclusions blood alleviated neurological function rats, mechanism may be related to augmentation endogenous antioxidant defense inhibition rat brain.
