摘要: Abstract The advent of low-cost solar photovoltaics (PV) and battery electricity storage has the potential to bring about fundamental shifts in structure power sector United States. We analyze how PV-battery systems various sizes could reduce dependence residential customers on central grid their impact CO 2 emissions. further costs such change as attempt decrease grid, considering installed cost under a net-energy metered rate structure. these relationships for five locations across U.S. find that fully disconnecting from with system is impractical most without also having dispatchable backup generation. Finally, we estimate economics behind-the-meter may if PV continue fall.
