摘要: Background: The most common endocrine disorder in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is adrenocortical dysfunction. prevalence of adrenal insufficiency AIDS is unclear, partly due to different tests, doses adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH), and criteria used. In addition, there is controversy regarding the assessment without critical illness. Objective: To help clarify both and non-critical illness, authors compared based on high-dose ACTH stimulation test. Material Method: There were 26 (19 males 7 females) a mean age 33.6 years (range: 22-46 years). Twelve 14 non-critical respectively. Result: Overall, was 19.2% (5 26) 30.8% (8 when peak stimulated cortisol level < 18 μg/dL 25 defined, 8.3% and 28.6% critically non-critically ill patients; respectively, peak stimulated 18 μg/dL defined. Finally, prevalence was 16.7% 42.9% patients, Conclusion: Adrenal more prevalent than those HIV infection, no matter what response after test are An testing should be performed in all hospitalized AIDS, Keywords: insufficiency, HIV, Critically ill, Adrenocorticotrophic (ACTH) stimulation test
