摘要: Introduction Mechanical thrombectomy has the potential to revolutionise treatment of acute stroke. The Solitaire AB device is used for clot retrieval with unprecedented revascularisation rates being reported. Our aim report our experiences safety and efficacy in ischaemic stroke. Methods A retrospective dual-centre study 21 patients stroke who underwent mechanical between 1 October 2010 December 2011 was carried out. Using clinical data recovered from patients' case notes, we identified time intervals groin puncture recanalisation, rates, procedural complications neurological status before after (using National Institutes Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) modified Rankin scale (mRS) respectively). Results Successful revascularisation, defined as Thrombosis Cerebral Ischemia Grade 2 or 3, achieved 81% cases. mean NIHSS score at presentation 18.5. number passes required achieve recanalisation 1.95 median duration procedure 65 min. Procedural events included distal emboli (n = 2), arterial dissection (n = 1) perforation (n = 1).There were three cases asymptomatic intracranial haemorrhage. Forty-eight per cent a good functional outcome 3 months (mRS ≤2). mortality rate 19% (n = 4). There no procedure-related mortality. Conclusions Mechanical safe achieves high outcomes.
