摘要: Plants contain a wide range of non-nutritive phytochemicals, many which have protective or preventive properties for human diseases. The aim the present work has been to investigate nutraceutical sweet chestnut flour extracts obtained from fruits collected 7 geographic areas Tuscany (Italy), and their ability in modulating skeletal muscle atrophy. We found that cultivars different are characterized by composition quantity various nutrients specific bioactive components, such as tocopherols, polyphenols sphingolipids. flours evaluated C2C12 myotubes induced atrophy serum deprivation dexamethasone. pretreatment with both total tocopherols sphingolipids is able counterbalance cell atrophy, reducing decrease myotube size myonuclei number, attenuating protein degradation increase expression MAFbx/atrogin-1 (a muscle-specific marker). By contrast, polyphenol were not prevent Since we also γ-tocopherol major form tocopherol its content differs depending on procedure preparation, mechanisms well affect investigated.
