摘要: The life histories of two bivoltine mesophyll-feeding leafhoppers, Lindbergina aurovittata (Douglas) and Edwardsiana rosae (L.), in South Wales are described. L. alternates between evergreen Rubus Quercus the first generation various deciduous broad-leaved trees second. Experiments on nymphal food preferences adult oviposition behaviour show that nymphs both generations tend to prefer older younger leaves, but little species specificity. However, adults discriminating preferences, which change regularly completely alternating generations. Similar results were obtained with E. rosae. Such obligate seasonal changes host utilization well known amongst aphids, previously have not been reported leafhoppers.
