摘要: Greenhouse experiments were conducted to examine the morphological traits of barnyard grass ecotypes from diverse geographic origin. Seeds (caryopsis) collected 17 locations of rice fields throughout Malaysia (11 states) and Indonesia (six provinces) grown in pots each containing 10 kg paddy field soil. The arranged using completely randomized design (CRD) with five replicates. Mean separation was calculated Duncan multiple range test at 5% probability level. Unweighted pair-group method arithmetic averages (UPGMA) performed determine individual relationship within grass. Twelve such as culm, panicle, leaf, spikelet measured. growth characters emergence date, heading time, duration also evaluated. average Perils, Kedah, Penang, Johor relatively earlier than other ecotypes. Six groups classified based on cluster analysis Malaysian Principal component indicated that group six found be highly variable compared others. While three identified Indonesian Group one observed variable. Results demonstrated variation among showing differences between two regions illustrate role variation. Key words : Variation / weeds
