摘要: Many conventional biomaterials fail to meet the demands required of them with respect their surface and bulk properties. This problem can be addressed by developing novel that have desired properties increased biocompatibility. Alternatively surfaces which desired bulk modified increase biocompatibility without compromising these Phosphorylcholine (PC) based coatings mimic the biological membranes so offer a method for modifying bulk materials, or incorporated into biomaterials. One key issues of is continual stimulation inflammatory response by biomaterials characterised in part by complement activation, macrophage adhesion and granulocyte activation.
