摘要: The mammalian habenulae consist of medial (MHb) and lateral (LHb) nuclear complexes. Especially the LHb has received much interest because it been recognized as potential center an “anti-reward system.” Subnuclear organization connectivity are well known. In contrast, criteria to classify habenular neurons into distinct groups with potentially different biological functions missing, most likely a result lack appropriate marker proteins. Actually, huge amount data concerning localization more than 20,000 mouse protein genes is provided in Allen Brain Atlas. Unfortunately, immediate use this information prohibited by fact that subnuclear complexes not known so far. present report, therefore, uses topographic, structural, cytochemical from rat recognize corresponding areas within habenulae. Taking advantage Kluver-Barrera technique allows simultaneous observation neuronal cell bodies myelinated fibers, we were able correlate habenula subnuclei, which had rigorously identified several rat. Our suggest topographic subnuclei rather similar between they may be homologous these two species. Consequently, our allow using Atlas source basal information, should helpful select candidate molecular markers for functionally higher J. Comp.
