摘要: Using fiber-optic transillumination, a clinical assessment was made of enamel cracks (prevalence, localization, expression, direction) in three groups adolescents representing debonded, debanded, and orthodontically untreated teeth. The findings indicated that were extremely common all groups. Most not very prominent could easily be overlooked on routine examination. majority vertical and, with the exception mandibular incisors, most frequently localized gingival two-thirds facial tooth surfaces. marked observed mostly maxillary canines central incisors Of few horizontal noted, located incisors. Clinical implications observations are (1) careful bonding debonding do result significant increase cracks; (2) whenever pronounced occur other teeth than or many observed, bonding/debonding technique should re-evaluated; (3) it seems advisable to notify parents/patients before orthodontic treatment is started, order avoid problems later when difficult impossible document their pretreatment existence.
