摘要: Stigmergy has been variously adopted in MASs (multi-agent systems) and other fields as well—as a technique for realising forms of emergent coordination societies composed by large amount typically simple, ant-like, non-rational agents. In this article we introduce conceptual engineering framework exploring the use stigmergy context cognitive / rational agents, means supporting high-level, knowledge-based social activities. We refer to kind stigmergy. Cognitive is based on suitable engineered artifacts tools populating agent working environment, which agents share rationally their individual goals. Artifacts are first-class entities representing environment that mediates interaction enables coordination: such, they encapsulate enact stigmergic mechanisms shared knowledge upon processes based. seminal paper, an agent-based artifacts. After discussing main issues—the notion stigmergy, role artifacts—, sketch abstract architecture consider its implementation TuCSoN infrastructure.
