摘要: Abstract Semi-solid forming is an attractive process for fabricating sound, weight-reduced automotive parts. Therefore, in this work, die systems of varied gate shape, width, and thickness were designed to investigate the filling characteristics semi-solid material with a controlled solid fraction. When materials fraction 50% filled inside cavity, causes liquid segregation according separation phenomena particles investigated. The parts characterized eutectic segregation, band, cracks shrinkage hole on part surface. It was found that all these defects could be solved by selection optimal casting speed shape when completely cavity. correlation between system has been synthetically investigated experimental results theoretical results. hardness primary α zone eutectics microstructural measured nano indentation. relationship also
