摘要: Raman displacements, semiquantitative relative intensities, quantitative depolarization factors (single‐exposure method), and infrared wave numbers have been obtained for liquid oxalyl chloride (ClOC–COCl) at room temperature. A critical examination of the present previous data has made probable values determined. Normal coordinate treatments both cis‐ trans‐forms. satisfactory assignment bands made, assuming sample to be in trans‐form. Only binary combinations 1st overtones were used, except 2 highest 3740 5140 cm−1. Fermi resonance occurs 4 cases. Not more than 10 percent cis‐form can present, presence even this much rests solely upon Saksena Kagarise's reported temperature variation intensity 533‐cm−1 band, though normal treatment does indicate that strongest trans‐Raman line 620‐cm−1 could occu...
