Accurate identification of atypical Staphylococcus chromogenes plasma-clotting strains causing bovine mastitis

摘要: EnglishWe compared the potential of routine techniques used for identification Staphylococcus species, aiming to evaluate their accuracy in detection 43 chromogenes strains isolated from bovine mastitis that, despite being a coagulase-negative are able clot plasma. These could be mistakenly suspected S. aureus and lead an unappropriated treatment disease. MALDI-TOF, PCR-RFLP chaperonine gene groEL, sequencing 16S rRNA elongation factor Tu tuf were employed. Even though all results identical, high MALDI-TOF (97.7% accuracy, with one strain misidentified) encourage use this technique, since it does not require laborious sample preparation, fast simple perform.
