摘要: A laboratory-scale nutrient removal activated sludge system, based on the AAO configuration, was used to treat a synthetic wastewater from milkpowder/butter factory. In this substrate is fed anaerobic and anoxic selectors in series with an aerobic reactor. Sludge returned selector, mixed liquor reactor recycled selector. The overall system operated at HRT of 7 days nominal age 20 days. This prone prolonged bulking periods, filamentous bacteria Sphaerotilus natans, Type 0411 Haliscomenobacter hydrossis being identified liquors, although effective clarifier operation prevented loss suspended solids. Theory suggests that may be circumvent low F:M bulking, bring about enhanced biological removal. An investigation initial design revealed relatively high nitrite levels were present larger selector 820 minutes substituted for original one 48 minutes. resulted decrease equivalent increase nitrate system. Overall nitrogen remained unchanged 66%, SVI did not improve. On resetting its size, effect reversed. Phosphorus efficiency detrimentally affected by sizing experiment (49% 20%), linked raised level COD excellent throughout trial over 90%
