摘要: Risk communication and risk perception are critical factors in disaster management. Governments at all levels play a part communicating risk, whereas the of entails active roles by community participants, including potential actual victims disasters. This paper discusses these matters relation to floods Brisbane, Australia, 2011. The findings based on interviews with representatives households whose dwellings or business premises were fully partially inundated waters. research shows how important it is recognise problems institutional fragmentation terms engagement recipients understanding interpreting flood information (especially for slow-onset riverine flooding, such as that suffered Brisbane). Locally targeted vital importance avoiding misinterpretation warning environmental cues promoting adequate responses. concludes some recommendations.
