摘要: Recent definitive observations imply a causal relationship between earthquakes separated by distances greater than thousand kilometers. These include dramatic episode of widespread seismicity following the 1992 Ms7.4 Landers, California earthquake [Hill et al,1993] and striking correlation large distant swarm activity at The Geysers geothermal field, [Stark Davis, 1995] (Fig. 1). This study seeks better understanding physical mechanisms underlying these more generally, how strain changes may initiate (trigger) rupture increase seismicity.
