摘要: Abstract. The characteristics of a landscape pose essential factors for hydrological processes. Therefore, an adequate representation the catchment in models is vital. However, many such exist differing, amongst others, spatial concept and discretisation. latter constitutes pre-processing step, which different algorithms along with numerous software implementations exist. In that context, existing solutions are often model specific, commercial, or depend on commercial back-end software, allow only limited no workflow automation at all. Consequently, new package scientific scripting environment R, called lumpR, was developed. lumpR employs algorithm hillslope-based discretisation directed to large-scale application via hierarchical multi-scale approach. addresses limitations as it free open source, easily extendible other models, can be fully automated. Moreover, user-friendly direct coupling GIS allows immediate visual inspection manual adjustment. Sufficient control furthermore retained parameter specification option include expert knowledge. Conversely, completely automatic operation also extensive analysis aspects related case study, presented. A sensitivity most important parameters demonstrates its efficient automation. Considering multiple streamflow metrics, employed proved reasonably robust parameters. determining sizes subbasins hillslopes more than including number representative hillslopes, attributes lumping algorithm, sub-discretisations hillslopes.
