摘要: We develop quantitative-genetic models for the evolution of multiple traits under maternal inheritance, in which are transmitted through non-Mendelian as well Mendelian mechanisms, and selection, fitness offspring depends on their mother's phenotype own. Maternal inheritance results time lags evolutionary response to selection. These cause a population evolve an indefinite number generations after selection ceases make rate direction change even when strength parameters remain constant. The depend that not unlike classical inheritance. confirm earlier findings can be larger or smaller than what is possible with simple opposite favors. influences her offspring's fitness, frequency-dependent maladaptively away from peak, regardless whether by differs other forms its force only function but also phenotypic resemblance parents offspring.
