SIMPLE PERFORMANCE TESTER FOR SUPERPAVE MIX DESIGN: FIRST-ARTICLE DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION

摘要: This report presents the findings of a research project to develop practical, economical simple performance tester for use in routine Superpave mix design and possibly characterization hot asphalt (HMA) materials pavement structural design. In phase work reported here, first-article testers (SPTs) procured from two different manufacturers were evaluated, both units found meet requirements performance-based purchase specification. Based on these results, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is coordinating pooled-fund production evaluation by state highway agencies. Four will be immediately purchased next this agencies FHWA test ruggedness candidate tests. Thus, particular interest engineers agencies, as well suppliers paving contractor personnel responsible specification laboratory equipment.
