摘要: Marangoni flow created by the gradient of surface tension can be used to transport small objects along fluid interfaces. We study lateral motion a fully wetted self-propelled body (swimmer) at fluid–fluid interface. The swimmer releases surfactant constant rate inducing gradient. dynamics insoluble is incorporated taking into account advection flow, diffusion and homogeneous decomposition reaction. show that translational speed increased as compared with self-propulsion chemically inactive surface-bound swimmer. Flow induced in-plane rotation an elongated generally weak so its trajectory in steady state straight line. A non-motile thin rod one ends capable surfing on self-generated cloud. Steady occurs length source back end acting propulsion engine.
