Influence of polymer matrix on nonlinear optical properties and optical limiting threshold of polymer-ZnO nanocomposites

摘要: Polymer/ZnO nanocomposites have received a great interest in its linear and nonlinear optical properties because of their potential application such as switching limiting devices. In the current work, four polymer/ZnO flexible foil been prepared using casting method. Poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), poly (vinylidene fluoride), polyvinyl alcohol polystyrene were used polymer matrices, while ZnO nanoparticles different concentrations filler. The composition materials was confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), also good spatial distribution elements showed EDS mapping. UV–Visible transmittance spectra as-prepared samples low UV region peak absorption range 370–377 nm depended on matrix. absorptive refractive nonlinearities parameters coefficient index sample analyzed an open closed aperture single beam Z-scan technique via Q-switched Nd-YAG pulse laser at 532 nm. order 10−12 cm2/W with negative sign whereas 10−7 cm/W. to evaluate suitability limiting, threshold measured technique. results that can be considered excellent candidate for PMMA/ZnO high concentration threshold, which equal 70 Mw/cm2.
