摘要: The ability of Māori to understand, record and forecast weather climate has been an important factor in successfully responding past climatic change New Zealand. Through interacting with local environments over the centuries have developed a wealth environmental knowledge, lessons learnt having incorporated into traditional modern practices agriculture, fishing, medicine, education conservation. In partnership tribal group Te Whānau-ā-Apanui, NIWA’s Research Development Unit (Te Kuwaha o Taihoro Nukurangi) initiated pilot project identify document knowledge (MEK) Using Kaupapa based research approach semi-directive interviewing, intimate understanding was demonstrated by elders from Whānau-ā-Apanui.
