Pan-Eurasian Experiment (PEEX): towards a holistic understanding of the feedbacks and interactions in the land–atmosphere–ocean–society continuum in the northern Eurasian region

摘要: Abstract. The northern Eurasian regions and Arctic Ocean will very likely undergo substantial changes during the next decades. Arctic–boreal natural environments play a crucial role in global climate via albedo change, carbon sources sinks as well atmospheric aerosol production from biogenic volatile organic compounds. Furthermore, it is expected that trade activities, demographic movement, use of resources be increasing regions. There need for novel research approach, which not only identifies tackles relevant multi-disciplinary questions, but also able to make holistic system analysis feedbacks. In this paper, we introduce agenda Pan-Eurasian Experiment (PEEX), multi-scale, international program started 2012 ( https://www.atm.helsinki.fi/peex/ ). PEEX sets approach by large-scale topics are investigated perspective aims fill key gaps our understanding feedbacks interactions between land–atmosphere–aquatic–society continuum region. We here state art present future prospects research, see context.
