摘要: MatrigelTM (reconstituted basement membrane extract) is a potent inducer of cell growth and differentiation in vitro. This study examined phenotypic variation proliferative responses human annular intervertebral disc cells vitro Growth Factor Reduced (GFR-MatrigelTM). Cells from age- gender-matched control subjects patients with degenerative disease were grown either on the surface of, or suspended within, matrices. Disc grew well top both matrices spontaneously forming projections. within matrix migrated gel to form colonies. Increased colony formation was seen young patient (p<0.05).
