摘要: The family Lepilemuridae includes 26 species of sportive lemurs, most which were recently described. cryptic morphological differences confounded taxonomy until recent molecular studies; however, some species’ boundaries remain uncertain. To better understand the genus Lepilemur, we analyzed 35 complete mitochondrial genomes representing all recognized lemur taxa and estimated divergence dates. With our dataset recovered 25 reciprocally monophyletic lineages, as well an admixed clade containing Lepilemur mittermeieri dorsalis. Using modern distribution data, ancestral area reconstruction ecological vicariance analysis performed to trace history diversification test biogeographic hypotheses. We initial split between eastern western clades have occurred in Miocene. Divergence from Pliocene Pleistocene. patterns this study addressed with a combinatorial approach including climate, watersheds, rivers. Generally, current climate watershed hypotheses for clades, while speciation northern was not adequately supported using factors incorporated study. Thus, multiple mechanisms likely contributed Lepilemur.
