Investigation of inducible clindamycin and telithromycin resistance in isolates of β-hemolytic streptococci

摘要: We evaluated the accuracy of an erythromycin-clindamycin double-disk test (D-zone test) and erythromycin-telithromycin D-zone for detection inducible resistance in isolates beta-hemolytic streptococci with erythromycin resistance. The results these tests were compared to a broth microdilution (BMD) induction using combinations either clindamycin or telithromycin. Of 29 erythromycin-resistant, clindamycin-susceptible isolates, 16 positive by test; all demonstrated BMD. Twelve test-negative, did not demonstrate BMD, mef determinant. 39 telithromycin-susceptible 13 test-positive, 19 questionably (unclear blunting zone), 7 test-negative. result correlate BMD presence erm gene. These that accurately detect resistance, but is reliable detecting telithromycin
