摘要: BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE To present a new method to quantify posterior capsular opacity with an anterior eye segment image analyzer (EAS 1000, NIDEK). PATIENTS METHODS This study was comprised of patients who underwent phacoemulsification intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. Three types IOLS, acrylic, silicone, and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) were allocated 30 eyes clinically evaluated. Patients observed for 3 years postoperatively using (EAS1000). Opacity determined by calculating the area from retroillumination image. In mode analysis, measurement limited 4-mm-diameter region pupillary zone eliminate influence opacity. For color map threshold level expressed as tone 0-255 CCT (computer compatible tape). The glare disability measured evaluate three IOLs. RESULTS analysis revealed time-related increase in receiving PMMA IOL implant. after surgery, levels significantly higher group (P < 0.01) compared acryl silicone groups: (17.5 +/- 3.8), (18.0 6.2%), 36.5 32.9%. CONCLUSION Quantitative evaluation is effective observing degree capsule opacification. correlated visual function that significant during third year
