摘要: Abstract The susceptibility of a single crystal ytterbium ethyl sulphate has been measured between 20°k and 1°k, Below 4°k the results obeyed relations Xπ = 1.08/T per mol, X⊊ =0.0615 mol. These measurements served to identify ground doublet state ion in this case as |J= 7/2 , J5= ± 8/2 >. magnetic specific heat was at five temperatures 3°k 1°k by relaxation method. were given CT2/R=4.34 × 10−4, agreement with calculations based on dipole-dipole hyperfine interactions alone. spin lattice time τ also measured. At 3°k, ≃5 10−4 sec very temperature dependent. Susceptibility above indicated population excited states, which could not be unambiguously identified. Their separation from least 57°k.
