摘要: In ten years from 2004 to 2013, 359 workers died in the Australian construction industry because of work related causes. This paper investigates crane-related fatalities order find upstream causation such accidents. The National Coroners’ Information System (NCIS) database was searched identify fatal accidents involving use a crane.  narrative description cases provided coroners’ findings and associated documents were content analysed contributing causal factors within context each case. show that most frequent accident types those struck by load, electrocution. prevalent immediate circumstance causes layout site restricted space. two commonly identified shaping physical constraints design process. Inadequate risk management system as main originating influence on demonstrates systemic model can provide considerable insight into how influences, factors, circumstances combine produce information is extremely useful informing development prevention strategies, particularly case occurring types.
