Participatory design of sensing networks: strengths and challenges

摘要: Participatory design (PD) involves users in all phases of to build systems that fit user needs while simultaneously helping understand complex systems. We argue traditional PD techniques can benefit participatory sensing: community-based research (CBPR) projects which technologies, such as sensing networks using mobile phones, are the instruments. Based on our pilot work CycleSense, a data gathering system for bicycle commuters, we discuss benefits and challenges settings, outline method integrate into process.
