摘要: Drawing on the Kaya identity, we assess role of main driver decline in carbon intensity, namely (economic) energy intensity. Using meta-signi?ficance testing for a sample 44 studies, dealing with causality between and GDP, ?find that both variables are strongly coupled. Hence, after having exhausted savings from nonrecurring structural changes, economic intensity may soon converge than being arbitrarily reducible. We suggest, therefore, not to rely further reductions but rather invest reduction mitigate climate change.
