摘要: Otolith microstructure of reared and wild cresthead flounder Pseudopleuronectes schrenki larvae juveniles was used to investigate the daily periodicity ring formation, morphological change unique otolith structure related important life events. By comparing microstructural features P. with those reported for other flatfish species, it shown that there may be are common all flatfishes. In sagittae lapillus, a check (a distinct ring) formed in centre otoliths at c. 6 days post hatching, formation rings observed outside confirmed. During metamorphosis, accessory primordia (AP) growth were on outer edge sagittae, shape became more complex. No AP lapilli, however, concentrically throughout larval juvenile (≤51·6 mm standard length, LS ) stages. It is proposed, therefore, lapilli appropriate than analysis relatively wide show weak contrast (metamorphosing zone, MZ).
