摘要: The chest wall consists of various structures that function in an integrated fashion to ventilate the lungs. Disorders affecting bony or soft tissues may impose elastic loads by stiffening and decreasing respiratory system compliance. These alterations increase work breathing lead hypoventilation hypercapnia. Respiratory failure occur acutely after a variable period time. This review focuses on pathophysiology specific diseases disorders wall, highlights pathogenic mechanisms failure.
