摘要: Mining operations have released measurable levels of geogenic trace metals (e.g. Cd, Cr, Pb), metalloids As, Se), and anthropogenic chemicals CN - , Hg) into surrounding sediments. Abandoned mining sites in hyperarid climates has not been the focus much research compared to wet temperate areas. Research focused on historical semiarid wetter regions United States, south pacific Europe. Those areas obvious risks associated with them including aqueous phase mobilization as a result abundant precipitation. However, many American Southwest aboard are located viewed having potential for contaminants. Seasonal storm events can mobilize sediments containing contaminates beyond small, localized area wider environment. Literature indicates that arid studied extensively those climates.
