摘要: This study investigates whether mode of administration and the interviewer's age sex affect results obtained with a commonly used rating scale for symptoms anxiety depression (HSCL-25). Identical versions was administered orally by experienced interviewers, either face-to-face or phone. Another sample received self-administered questionnaires that were completed at home returned mail. Subjects total 13,850 Norwegian adults participating in two broad population surveys. Results seem to confirm standing presumption in-person interviews are more vulnerable socially desirable responding (SDR) than modes: Two three times as many “probable cases” psychological distress identified compared interview modes. However, SDR generated apparently occurs subgroups respondents not extant measures social desirability (the Crowne-Marlowe scale, etc.) being high on SDR: In present young well-educated appear particularly prone under-report The impact interviewer symptom reports generally appears weak. male interviewers receive very few other interviewers.
