摘要: Abstract Microalgae are a biochemically diverse assemblage of microorganisms amenable to fermentation and mass culture. Including the cyanobacteria nearly dozen eukaryotic classes, microalgae produce wide array compounds with biological activity. These include antibiotics, algicides, toxins, pharmaceutically active plant growth regulators. Most research has centred on toxin production by dinoflagellates. Recently, have become targets for screening programmes in search novel potential medicinal value. Secondary metabolite varies environmental conditions. When these processes better understood, might economic sources new drugs other specialty chemicals because can be optimized controlled
