摘要: In 16 children heterozygous for familial hypercholesterolemia, two- to three-year therapy with diet and cholestyramine resin (16 gm/day) was assessed in terms of effectiveness, practicality, safety. All had previously taken a low-cholesterol (less than 300 mg/day), polyunsaturate-rich (P/S ratio, 1.5:1) choeltyramine (12 12 months. this study, the dose increased gm/day, follow-up maintained through months 13 18, 19 24, 25 30, 31 36. Eleven good drug adherence (four packs per day) five fair (two three day). Plasma total cholesterol low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels were not significantly lowered on drug-plus-diet regimen as compared alone adherence. For adherence, mean plasma level below achieved by 13% (months 18), 12% 24), 30), 11% 36) (P less .05). Reduction no greater gm day. There group changes triglyceride levels. Cholestyramine resin, when added two years effects significant reduction LDL about 60% hypercholesterolemia. Continued reinforcement both is necessary face gradual increments time.
