摘要: Immiscible blends of high molecular weight commercial poly(p-dioxanone) (PPDX) and poly(e-caprolactone) (PCL) were prepared by melt mixing in a wide composition range. The materials exposed to hydrolysis medium (phosphate buffer kept at constant pH 7.2) 37°C during 36 weeks. change the samples as well their thermal properties, morphology, spherulitic crystallization kinetics, tensile properties studied function degradation time. As PCL does not experience loss entire period explored here, was indicative PPDX only. combined results calorimetry, texture, spherulite growth kinetics allowed us establish that component experiences much faster rate than neat PPDX. Such increase could be due larger surface area when it is dispersed immiscible PCL. Nevertheless, presence can extend physical integrity mechanical for longer periods time compared with Therefore, may good candidates replacing specific applications requiring life material. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
