摘要: There is an ongoing controversy respecting calcium supplementation and its role in osteoporosis treatment prevention. Ca can be present different forms that are likely to vary their chemical properties bioavailability. This the first study investigate bioavailability of pyruvate (CaPyr) compare it with citrate malate (CaCitrMalt) carbonate (CaCarb). We performed a double-blind, four-arm, randomized, placebo-controlled trial (crossover design 14-day washout) which 1 g each these was administrated orally 12 healthy postmenopausal women fasted prior intervention. The greatest increase serum content observed within 180 min although no statistically significant difference found area under plasma concentration curve between studied supplement groups. urinary 0- 12-h interval increased after CaCitrMalt CaPyr administration values for former. All formulas decreased intact parathyroid hormone level change CaCarb. induced gastrointestinal side effects, dyspepsia diarrhea 16.6 % individuals. No serious adverse events were noted. demonstrates both promising source potential use Further investigations should focus on long-term dietary effects assess safety beneficial effect human turnover.
