摘要: The goal of this paper is to study the influence corporate environmental responsibility (CER) and national standards on location choices 600 biggest European firms. By using score provided by Vigeo , we are able test performances We find a negative interaction effect between these regulations. Thus, argue that can be substitute for CER. All things being equal, firms with better tend located in dirtier countries. CER therefore seen as an answer which invest countries poor policies. This result only valid when considering de facto standards, not jure standards. It suggests possible strategic behavior exploit differences formal regulations their effective enforcement.
