摘要: Hypercholesterolemia is a major risk factor for the development of cardiovascular disease and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Natural compounds have been proved to be useful in lowering serum cholesterol slow down progression In present study, hypocholesterolemic hepatoprotective effects dietary consumption chlorogenic acid were investigated by monitoring plasma lipid profile (total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein low-density lipoprotein) Sprague-Dawley rats fed with normal diet, high-cholesterol diet or supplemented (1 10 mg/kg/day p.o.) 28 days. Chlorogenic markedly altered increased total but decreased induced hypercholesterolemic dose-dependent improvement on both atherogenic index cardiac factor. Lipid depositions attenuated significantly animals acid. It postulated that effect primary beneficial given acid, which leads other secondary such as atheroscleroprotective, cardioprotective functions. The functions are probably due increase acids unitization via up-regulation peroxisome proliferation-activated receptor α mRNA.
