Factors predicting six-month exclusive breastfeeding among mothers in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

摘要: Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) rates continue to be low in Vietnam. This study aimed determine the factors predicting 6-month EBF among mothers Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.,A cross-sectional was conducted with 259 of infants aged between six nine months at well-baby clinics City. The questionnaires used for data collection included personal background questionnaire, perceived benefits scale, self-efficacy scale-short form, barriers scale and family support scale. Descriptive statistics, bivariate multiple logistic regression were analysis.,About 32% Vietnamese practiced EBF. By increasing one unit breastfeeding, support, mothers' likelihood give would increase 19% (AOR = 1.19, 95% CI = 1.08, 1.31), 12% (AOR = 1.12, CI = 1.04, 1.19) 10% (AOR = 1.10, 1.16), while previous experience, maternal age education could not significantly contribute EBF.,This is first Vietnam using a nursing model, health promotion as framework identify An effective program promoting developed by manipulating tailoring fit needs through mother class, lactation clinic or individual approach.
