摘要: We have monitored and analyzed, through remote sensing ancillary field surveys, the rapid (O(1) year) development of a tidal network within newly established artificial salt marsh in Venice Lagoon. After construction marsh, volunteer creeks themselves away from an artificially constructed main channel (with mean maximum annual headward-growth rates 11 m/yr 18 m/yr, respectively). The formation this system provides unique opportunity to test reliability model initiation development, previously proposed by authors. restored presents characteristics controlled environment analogous large-scale laboratory, as it allows comparison morphologic features real simulated structures under reasonable assumption neglecting accretion deposition processes over timescales observation. Our results compare favorably with observational evidence, showing that proves reasonably capable reproducing actual channel-network patterns. reproduces statistical eco-morphodynamic hydrodynamic relevance captures dominant modes network-incision process.
