摘要: The bandwidth efficiency of voice over IP (VoIP) traffic on the IEEE 802.11 WLAN is notoriously low. VoIP incurs high cost for frame packetization and MAC/PHY framing, which aggravated by channel access overhead. For instance, 10 calls with G.729 codec can barely be supported 802.11b acceptable QoS - less than 2% efficiency. As WLANs services become increasingly widespread, this inefficiency must overcome. This paper proposes a solution that boosts enough to support significantly larger number existing schemes, fair call quality. comes in two parts: adaptive aggregation uplink/downlink equalization. former reduces absolute MAC frames according link congestion level, latter balances usage between point (AP) wireless stations. When used combination, they yield superior performance, supporting more 100 an link. authors demonstrate performance proposed approach through extensive simulation, validate simulation analysis.
