摘要: A field experiment was conducted from 1992 to 1996 on an existing alfalfa (Medicago sativa Leyss) stand located a P-deficient Black Chernozem (Typic Boroll) soil at Ponoka, Alberta, compare the effectiveness of broadcasting (spread over surface) versus banding (1.5 cm wide band placed 5 deep and 15 apart, using coulter-type disc drill) annual one-time applications P fertilizer dry matter yield (DMY), P-use efficiency applied (PUE), protein (PY), recovery (PR), net returns (NR) non-renewable energy performance hay. There marked increase in DMY PY all application treatments five years. Banding produced greater than broadcasting, with both (by 954 kg ha−1 205 ha−1) 742 173 applications. The PUE (averaged across rates years) as compared by 58 kg−1 for applications, 47 In same order, PR values were 16.0 12.1% broadcasting. Despite higher costs significantly nearly differences between generally lower rates. Based 5-year means, similar DMY, PY, PUE, NR. contrast, inputs but use methods application. conclusion, method placement had greatest effect PR, NR performance, whereas showed results. results suggest that forage productivity profitability can be improved coulter type comparison conventional
